Thank You...Gracias...Danke... Merci...Grazie

When I returned home from work yesterday, I called the maintenance personnel to remove my door from the frame. Why you ask? My BIG HEAD failed to fit through the doorway as a result of ALL the love fellow blog buddies and MY SITStahs showed Me So Hongry.

I want to THANK EVERYONE for the out pour of motivational and supportive comments in response to my SITS Featured Blogger post. Let me tell you a little something about Me So Hongry. Comments serve as fuel to keep me motivated, especially when the going gets tough and I want to get going ( to the nearest pizza buffet). I want you to know, I plan to respond to each and every person who left a comment yesterday, but it may take a while. I figured if I start responding to around 20 peeps a day, I may finish around...let's see...March (lol).

I even read the comments left by the SITStahs checking in on the SITS website. I discovered that many LOVED and found my blog title humorous. And for that reason, my blog name shall remain the same until the end of time. Well for that reason, plus the fact that I purchased the domain name www.mesohongry.com. And to think, I came up with title while drive down the freeway singing (To the tune of 2 Live Crew's Me So Horny) " Ah...me so hongry...ah...ah...me so hongry. Ah...me so hongry...me eat for long time."

I especially want to THANK everyone for congratulating me on achieving a loss of 45 pounds. Believe me when I say, I am truly touched that you find me inspirational, as well as motivational. Funny thing, I sit here thanking perfect strangers, but yet I struggle with accepting compliments from familiar faces: family, friends, co-workers, fellow WW members, etc. Why is that?

I work hard on my blog and my body, but yet I devalue myself by failing to acknowledge compliments. So from this point forward, I plan to accept and embrace weight loss recognition from family and friends with grace. So with that being said, I need practice with the whole "accepting recognition graciously thing," so let's get the complimets-a-rolling!

  3. Aww, shucks take the compliments and enjoy them. I don't do them either.

But you know what? Compliments are people giving a little piece of themselves to you as a gift, so for heaven's sake just say thank you and enjoy.

  6. I have a friend (that I shared your blog with btw) and she has lost about 100 pounds in the last year. The other day we were all complimenting her on how "hot" she is looking (because she does) and she asked us to stop. She said she just can't take it and it is hard for her to absorb it and adjust to the new her. She also kind of sees it as a slight on the "old" her. I think it just takes time. I have a hard time accepting compliments too, on everything from my kids to my hair. I guess it is some kind of psychic block.

  7. Trina, I love that video. lol Never met you but you remind me of someone you just can't help but to love! Keep at it girl. You'll be making 50, 55, 60 in no time!

Since comments fuel the motivation in you, try letting some of the compliments do the same. :) I know for me, when someone gives me a compliment, I get real excited about it. (well, for the ones I think are half true anyway. hehe)

  14. I struggle with the same things. I think it's because we are hard wired not to toot our own horns and sometimes that's a hard line to tiptoe on.
I now have that song stuck in my head. Which has a funny story in my mind.
When hubby and I first started dating, we were radio surfing and got so cracked up because there was a station that the radio stopped on that had 2 channels interfering with one another. One was a man singing a religious song that repeated "Jesus, jesus" in a long drawn out way and the other station was "me so horny". Hilarious!

  27. I've been checking out your blog just recently and am excited to hear about other WW member's success! I've never commented on a blog until now. I realized that "blogland" can be about strangers helping strangers. I can't wait until my blog gets some followers or comments. I loved the video clip by the way! Keep up the amazing work you are doing!

  28. It is SO easy to devalue your own progress. Somehow the very things we'd admire in other people we think are no big deal when it comes to us. Good for you for recognizing this pattern and for doing something about it!
