I'm a BAD Mutha....Shhh...SHUT YO MOUTH!

For the first time since joining CrossFit, I experienced my first PR (Personal Record) TONIGHT!  For the first time, I completed the WOD (Workout of the Day) using the Rx (Prescribed Weight)...75#!

Prior to tonight's WOD, I always modified the weight prescribed (Rx) to perform the WOD. I sometimes decreased the Rx weight by 10 or 15 lbs. I believe my Rx weight modifications resulted from fear and me doubting myself. Tonight, all fear and doubts faded and I decided to push myself.

So...tonight's WOD consisted of the following:
21/15/9  (indicates the number of reps)
Power Cleans
Hand Release Push-ups


2 Minute Rest


15/12/9 (indicated the number of reps)
Power Cleans
Hand Release Push-ups


To clarify, I completed 21 power cleans, then 21 push-ups...next 15 power cleans, then 15 push-ups...and so on and so on.


What's a power clean you ask?  The following video demonstrates a power clean.
So yes, I completed a total of 81 power cleans with 75 lbs. BOOM SUCKA!! It feels amazing to see Rx next to my name.
But I must confess...I modified the hand release push-ups.
I started the first set of reps (15) doing the Rx push-ups, but when the next rep (9)  rolled around I decided to hit my knees. The power cleans wiped me out, so by the time I hit the deck to complete the push-ups I only had enough energy for "girl push-ups."


Despite the modification..


Today I felt like a real athlete.


Today I felt like I belonged at CrossFit.
