COUNTDOWN!

It seems as though every school district in the greater Houston area, EXCEPT PASADENA ISD (my employer), ended last week! As I worked today, a majority of my teacher friends basked in the summer vacay ambiance.  


Soooo...today I begin my countdown...FOUR DAYS & counting till SUMMER VACAY!!  Speaking of countdown, I <3 the song Countdown by my girl, B. This little ditty shall serve as my theme song for the week! And my favorite part...

With out further adieu, time for Friend Makin Mondays. I think I deserve an award since I actually posted FMM on Monday! 1.  When's your birthday? November 4th. And I am the epitome of a Scorpio!

2.  When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper and mailed it? Probably 1980 something. I remember spending the summer with cousins in Louisiana and I met a boy. We wrote each other back and forth a few times and then our summer romance fizzled.

3. What did you eat for breakfast this morning? A hard boiled egg.

4.  Who is the next band or artist you hope to see live? Hopefully 311?? One of my favorite songs...Beautiful Disaster.


5. What is the last song you listened to? Beautiful Disaster by 311:-)

6. If you could be fluent in any other language,  which one would you choose? Spanish

7.  Does anything on your body hurt right now? Where should I start...how much time do you have? Let's see...my hip, ankle, shoulder...for starters. I just keep pushing and work through the pain!

8.  What's your favorite sports team? I loathe sports!

9.  How often do you watch the news? I don't watch that show. I find out everything I need to know from the Internet or the radio.

10. Do you wear glasses? No, but I think glasses may be on the horizon. Sometimes I do that thing where you move things back and forth trying to bring the print into focus. In my defense, the print was really small...it was.

30 is the number of pounds removed from my body (as of today)! BAM!!

Today I weighed in...-1.8 lbs. So, NO eviction notice for me today from ONEderland. So I called the guy I frequently go to the movies and eat out with to tell him of my glorious news, and during our conversation I said the funniest thing (well it was funny too me):

Guy I Frequently Go Out With (GIFGOW): Oh, so you're up now (I called him around 6AM this morning as I laid down to go to sleep. Yes, I went to bed at or around 6 AM this morn....that's a whole "nother" story.)

Me: Yes. You know I weigh in on Saturdays, so I had to get up to weigh in before 12 PM.

GIFGOW: *Silence*

Me: *Silence*

Me: *Silence*

Me: (Waiting for him to ask how much I lost..) *Extended Silence and crickets chirping in the distance*

Me: *Sarcastically* YEAH! I LOST WEIGHT THANKS FOR ASKING!

GIGFOW: I was going to ask...(I cut him off.)

Me: WHEN???!!! Whatever man...I NEED A cheerLEADER not a cheerHATER! (That was the funny thing I said).

That conversation reminded me of my haters post from a few weeks ago, which brings me to my point. I am doing THIS for ME and his approval is not needed nor required!! Man, he is so on the "kick-yo-azz-to-da-curb list" and he doesn't even know it! Bye bye Hater...see you later.

So, back to the whole going to sleep at 6 AM. Well I can show you better than I can tell you:

I broke my promise. I intended to provide a day by day countdown of the final days as a first year teacher, but my blogging fell by the wayside. Any who...Day 7 Festivities...Career Day

Dairy farming anyone...anyone?

I failed to exercise on the last few days of school, but the daunting task of shutting down my classroom provided some much needed activity....so all was not lost. We moved EVERY piece of furniture to the back of the classroom, and ALL manipulatives and materials found their perspective "summer home." Take a look at the cute red bookshelf. The teacher across the pod from me received a promotion and she gave me the Spot bookshelf, white shelf and the small brown bookcase in the picture. Since I will be teaching Kinder next year, the much needed furniture is so appreciated. Congrats to me! I am super psyched about teaching Kinder instead of Special Ed. I plan to write a blog detailing my first year as a Kinder teacher.
