I want to THANK EVERYONE for the out pour of motivational and supportive comments in response to my SITS Featured Blogger post. Let me tell you a little something about Me So Hongry. Comments serve as fuel to keep me motivated, especially when the going gets tough and I want to get going ( to the nearest pizza buffet). I want you to know, I plan to respond to each and every person who left a comment yesterday, but it may take a while. I figured if I start responding to around 20 peeps a day, I may finish around...let's see...March (lol).
I even read the comments left by the SITStahs checking in on the SITS website. I discovered that many LOVED and found my blog title humorous. And for that reason, my blog name shall remain the same until the end of time. Well for that reason, plus the fact that I purchased the domain name www.mesohongry.com. And to think, I came up with title while drive down the freeway singing (To the tune of 2 Live Crew's Me So Horny) " Ah...me so hongry...ah...ah...me so hongry. Ah...me so hongry...me eat for long time."
I work hard on my blog and my body, but yet I devalue myself by failing to acknowledge compliments. So from this point forward, I plan to accept and embrace weight loss recognition from family and friends with grace. So with that being said, I need practice with the whole "accepting recognition graciously thing," so let's get the complimets-a-rolling!
Good to see that you're doing great in your weight loss journey and I was initially drawn to your link by your blog name lol! Now I've started my blog and have added you to my blogroll to follow your journey.
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so happy for you! Keep going! I love your spirit!
ReplyDeleteAww, shucks take the compliments and enjoy them. I don't do them either.
ReplyDeleteBut you know what? Compliments are people giving a little piece of themselves to you as a gift, so for heaven's sake just say thank you and enjoy.
yay :) glad you had a fun day and found a lot of support :) and hey compliments are there for that reason to make you feel goooood!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! You look great. The video was so cute. I'm stopping over from SITS. Kathi
ReplyDeleteI have a friend (that I shared your blog with btw) and she has lost about 100 pounds in the last year. The other day we were all complimenting her on how "hot" she is looking (because she does) and she asked us to stop. She said she just can't take it and it is hard for her to absorb it and adjust to the new her. She also kind of sees it as a slight on the "old" her. I think it just takes time. I have a hard time accepting compliments too, on everything from my kids to my hair. I guess it is some kind of psychic block.
ReplyDeleteTrina, I love that video. lol Never met you but you remind me of someone you just can't help but to love! Keep at it girl. You'll be making 50, 55, 60 in no time!
ReplyDeleteSince comments fuel the motivation in you, try letting some of the compliments do the same. :) I know for me, when someone gives me a compliment, I get real excited about it. (well, for the ones I think are half true anyway. hehe)
Girl you deserve every compliment!! Can't wait to see what this year will bring for us. All good things I know. :-)
ReplyDeleteOkay girl, I just watched the taped and you had me rolling!!! You are hilarious!! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so damn silly Trina!! LOL
ReplyDeleteYes sometimes compliments can be overwhelming, but enjoy! You earned them and deserve them.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Trish
Trina..Trina...Trina...it is hard for us women to take compliments but you are doing a great job at starting to accept them...I loved this post!!! You should be praised girl...you are a strong, inspirational woman to us plus you make us laugh and smile. You are one of those angels that just doesn't have any wings. Keep on inspiring!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Regi
Loved the video! :) hehe You are so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteI struggle with the same things. I think it's because we are hard wired not to toot our own horns and sometimes that's a hard line to tiptoe on.
ReplyDeleteI now have that song stuck in my head. Which has a funny story in my mind.
When hubby and I first started dating, we were radio surfing and got so cracked up because there was a station that the radio stopped on that had 2 channels interfering with one another. One was a man singing a religious song that repeated "Jesus, jesus" in a long drawn out way and the other station was "me so horny". Hilarious!
Enjoy your moment in the sun! I love your video - I feel like I know you a little bit now! I think of compliments from strangers as gifts from God, He just uses them to send a little love!
ReplyDeleteYou are sovery inspiring! Hold your head high and accept those praises girl!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Your blog title is what drew me in -- I didn't come here from Sitsahs (sp). :) And when I read your post this morning, I started laughing about how you came up with the name. PURE GENIUS! I love it and am excited about getting to know you. Awesome job on the weight loss endeavors and successes! You're gonna be smokin' when its all said & done! (not that you aren't already...)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.
Hugs,
Lisa
Just remember~ You have to be a good receiver in order to give someone the joy of being a good giver.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to getting to know you through your blog. Congrats again.
I have something for you over at My Lipstick Life - go check it out! Cheers :)
ReplyDeleteGood job girl!
ReplyDeleteYes, why IS it sooo hard to take a complement??? Well here's some more for you...Way to go! 45 and counting. Nicely done. I need to get busy. And your song and dance was great!! haha. You are too cute.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! You rock girl!
ReplyDeletePaloma (from SITS)
Oh girl - you're just down right amazing!!! It's so easy to see why so many love your blog, your attitude is fantastic. SOOO excited to see you're keeping the blog name - I love it to pieces!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I was originally drawn to your blog by the title as well and then loved the spirit and humour in your words. You deserve all of the compliments, you have worked hard and look great!
ReplyDeleteAnd to think that I thought your blog title came from the Cookie Monster on Sesame Street!
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute. That is all.
ReplyDeleteI lost 35 lbs on ww 4 years ago and have kept it off without hardly trying!!! You go girl! You can do it too!! Trust me....I am a southern fried princess...if I can do it, ANYONE can! *smooches™
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks for putting that song in my head. If I start humming it, my husband will be on me like a dog. You owe me...
I've been checking out your blog just recently and am excited to hear about other WW member's success! I've never commented on a blog until now. I realized that "blogland" can be about strangers helping strangers. I can't wait until my blog gets some followers or comments. I loved the video clip by the way! Keep up the amazing work you are doing!
ReplyDeleteIt is SO easy to devalue your own progress. Somehow the very things we'd admire in other people we think are no big deal when it comes to us. Good for you for recognizing this pattern and for doing something about it!
